Privacy Policy

Square Image is a free tool that crops or pads images into squares. Protecting your privacy is central to how the tool is built, not an afterthought. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the site.

The short version

Your images are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to us. We do not run accounts, we do not sell data, and we collect as little information as possible.

Your images stay on your device

When you open an image, it is loaded and edited locally using your browser's built-in Canvas technology. The file never travels to a server, is never stored by us, and is discarded from memory as soon as you close or refresh the page. Because we never receive your images, we cannot see, share, or recover them.

Information we collect

We deliberately keep this minimal:

• No account data. There is no signup, so we never ask for your name, email, or password to use the tool.
• No image data. As explained above, your images are processed locally and are not transmitted to us.
• Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and reliability. This is not linked to your identity.

Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. Any analytics we use is configured to avoid collecting personally identifiable information and is not used to track you across other websites.

Local storage

We store a single preference in your browser's local storage to remember your light or dark theme choice. This stays on your device and is not a tracking cookie.

Children

Square Image is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
